NEW DELHI - Despite all the grief about rising intolerance, an insatiable appetite for foreign trips, and flip flops while dealing with Pakistan, majority of Indians rate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's performance as "above average," according to a ABP News-Nielsen survey.
ABP-Nielsen Survey: 54 percent of respondents said that Modi's performance was above average, 17 percent said very good, 37 percent said good, 30 percent said average, and 11 percent said poor.
The majority of respondents also ranked the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) government's performance as above average.
While the survey revealed that the NDA would once again form the government if the Lok Sabha election was held today, it also showed that the Congress Party-led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) would bag more seats in the lower house of parliament.
If the election was held today, the survey found, NDA would win 301 seats, a slight drop from the 339 seats in the 2014 National Election, while the UPA would hugely increase its tally from 62 to 108 seats.
The survey showed that the Left almost double its seats to 20, but the other parties would see a further dwindling in their seats.
In terms of vote share if the Lok Sabha election was held today, BJP would get 43 percent, the Congress Party would get 14 percent, and the Aam Aadmi Party would get four percent, the All India Trinamool Congress would get three percent, and Janata Dal (United) would get one percent.
